Intertwined Skins: Glitched Sublime is a video recording of an interactive installation created in TouchDesigner. Close-up photographs of human skin and tree skin dissolve, shift, and glitch into one another, forming a digital skin — a surface that exists between the organic and the technological.
The soundscape is composed of forest recordings — rustling leaves, wind, and distant birds — grounding the piece in nature even as its visuals slip between the organic and the digital. This notion of digital skin anchors the work, suggesting that surfaces — whether human, ecological, or technological — carry memory, identity, and time.
As textures distort and merge, they reveal how technology and nature are deeply intertwined, producing moments of interference, ecological imbalance, and unexpected intimacy. The piece invites viewers to consider how our own “skins” — physical, environmental, and virtual — overlap and shape how we perceive ourselves, one another, and the living world.
